Schleswig-Holstein. The true north and Danmark, always a strong community

Dr Werner Schwarz, Minister for Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection from Schleswig-Holstein, visited our company on 8 August 2024 to find out more about the PRECISE Interreg Germany-Danmark project.

Cooperation in the Precise project between Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein is made possible by the Interreg programme framework, which aims to promote cross-border cooperation. The Precise project focuses on the development of a freshness sensor for meat and fish in order to better determine the shelf life of these foods and thus reduce food waste.

In concrete terms, the collaboration is characterised by the involvement of partners from both regions who are working together on the research and development of the sensor. This co-operation enables the exchange of knowledge and technologies between the participating institutions and companies in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein. This not only promotes technological development, but also strengthens economic and scientific networking in the region.

The Interreg programmes provide a platform for funding such innovative projects and facilitating cooperation across national borders, which ultimately helps to strengthen joint economic and social structures.
